The new historic visits record of this year´s Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) also reflected at the stand of the two multitouch specialists. With several systems on display visitors were pushing and squeezing on the 48m² stand to convince themselves about the evolutions and applications in the interactive signage sector.
With the combination of interactive touchscreen hardware and customizable apps from the eyefactive AppStore eyefactive offers complete solutions under one roof to their customers and partners: With the appropriate multiuser software the qualities of our touchscreens with up to 80 touch points really begin to shine and form a ready-to-use complete solution for end customers. says Markus Meier of 3M.
Another trend theme was object recognition on LCD based displays. eyefactive presented the current state of the art technology on a table system with an integrated 3M touchscreen. Thanks to small chips any object could be recognized by the touch sensor. As soon as for instance a cup was placed on the display, an app opened with corresponding media in immediate proximity. Special emphasize of eyefactive was given on the robust recognition of various objects and their exact position.
Retailers can fit desired products with such chips at points of sale i.a. - or expand the product range virtually to products that are missing on location. When customers hold chip equipped products to a touch display, any additional information such as demonstration videos, product brochures or ordering functions may open depending on the app used.
The latest 3M MetalMesh touch screens were presented in a table and terminal version. Additionally, a 55'' HD and a 65'' UHD display were mounted to the walls.
Also the showcase of an interactive shop window caused quite a stir: Here an interactive touch foil was fitted to the back of a robust glass window. That way a system can provide information about products and brands in public spaces after closing hours while being perfectly protected against wind, weather and vandalism.
Furthermore eyefactive presented their module system OMEGA by means of a s-shaped, curved counter. Another version to this product family was eyefactive´s AURORA HD system featuring a completely round multitouch display.
The concept of augmented reality was showcased with the Hypebox. A transparent touchscreen displays additional information on a product located behind the glass screen. A digital plane in the foreground adds interactive elements to the physical object in the background.
All systems were running the latest version of eyefactive´s touchscreen CMS software AppSuite. Various so called scenarios demonstrated the adaptability of eyefactive´s app-platform: The use in hotels, travel agencies, shopping centres, fashion stores or cinemas was made tangible by a combination of several standard apps. For this endeavour suitable content in the form of images, videos or PDF documents was integrated in the customizable apps via the content management system.
